Overview
About the project
Tikha Tales is a concept online shop for a small home business that makes spicy Indian snacks like murukku, Bombay mixture, banana chips and masala peanuts. It gives a home kitchen the look and trust of an established brand.
Many small food businesses sell only through WhatsApp chats and Instagram DMs, and big e-commerce platforms charge monthly fees and commissions they can't afford. This storefront gives them a professional shop with no running costs - while orders still arrive on WhatsApp, the channel the owner already uses every day.
Solution areas
- Homemade snacks website
- Home food business online store
- WhatsApp ordering website for small businesses
- Namkeen & snacks e-commerce design
- Heat-level & category filters
- Combos, gift hampers & corporate orders
- Online store with no platform fees or commissions
- Local SEO for home food brands
The challenge
Selling through chats and DMs means customers can't easily see the full menu, compare prices or trust a brand they haven't heard of - and marketplaces take a cut of every order. The shop had to look professional and trustworthy, make ordering effortless, and fit the way a home business already works, without payment gateways, apps or monthly fees.
Our solution
A storefront built around WhatsApp: customers browse by category and heat level, fill a cart and check out with one tap, and the owner receives a ready-made, itemised order message. Combos, gift hampers and a bulk and corporate order form raise order value; reviews, the founder's story, a how-it's-made section, FSSAI details and clear shipping and refund policies build trust; and a free-shipping bar and fresh-batch notes encourage bigger orders. The owner can update products, prices and offers without a developer.
What it does
Key features
-
Shop by taste
Customers filter snacks by category and with a heat-level slider. Every product shows a spice meter, so they know how hot it is before ordering.
-
Order on WhatsApp
Customers fill a cart and check out with one tap. The owner receives a ready-made, itemised order message - no payment gateway or app needed.
-
Combos and gift hampers
Bundles like the Chai-Time Box and the Festive Gift Hamper raise order value, and a separate form handles bulk and corporate orders.
-
Built for trust
Customer reviews, the founder's story, a how-it's-made section, food-licence (FSSAI) details and clear shipping and refund policies.
-
Encourages bigger orders
A free-shipping progress bar in the cart and notes about fresh-batch days.
-
Easy to find and use
Works well on mobile, loads quickly and is set up to show up in local Google searches.
-
Easy to update
The owner can change products, prices and offers without a developer.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can Zynovate build a website for my homemade food or snacks business?
Yes. Tikha Tales is a concept storefront we designed and built for a homemade snack brand: a menu customers can filter by category and heat level, combos and gift hampers, a bulk and corporate order form, trust sections like reviews, the founder's story and FSSAI details, and one-tap ordering on WhatsApp. We adapt it to home bakers, pickle and sweets makers, tiffin services and other home food businesses.
How does ordering on WhatsApp work without a payment gateway?
Customers fill a cart and check out with one tap, and the website opens WhatsApp with a ready-made, itemised order message for the owner. The owner then confirms the order and shares payment details in the chat - no payment gateway, app or platform needed.
Are there platform fees or commissions?
No. Unlike marketplaces and hosted e-commerce platforms, a storefront like this has no monthly platform fees or per-order commissions - orders come straight to the owner on WhatsApp. Hosting and a domain are the main running costs, and we can host on low-cost or free tiers.
Can I update products, prices and offers myself?
Yes. The storefront is set up so the owner can change products, prices and offers without a developer.
Will my home food business show up in local Google searches?
The site is built for it: it loads quickly, works well on mobile and is set up for local search, with clear business, product and FAQ content. Rankings take time and depend on competition, but a fast, well-structured site gives you the foundation that chats and DMs can't.
Is Tikha Tales a real brand?
No - it's a concept project. The business details, prices and reviews are sample data, built to show how we design a storefront for a home food business. You can try the live demo yourself.
